McKinley Bridge
St Louis

Route 66 originally crossed the McKinley Bridge, built in 1910. The bridge is not named for the US president, but for Congressman William B. McKinley. He was president of the interurban railroad that constructed the bridge. The span was closed for an overhaul in 2001, and finally re-opened in November, 2007. It now includes a pedestrian and bike path.
