Mayor Raymond Tucker dedicated the new Lambert Field Terminal on the south side of the Airport and along I-70 on March 10, 1956. Minoru Yamasaki, George Hellmuth, and Joseph Leinweber came up with an innovative design featuring three thin shell concrete domes. There are now four. Yamasaki went on to design the World Trade Center.
