"In this area are located ticket counters, waiting areas, shops and dining facilities. The idea of combining all these facilities in one large unobstructed space is original in terminal design, and has resulted in calling this facility the "Grand Central of the Air". The area measures 120 feet wide by 412 feet long, and is completely free of columns and partitions."
