Twin Bridges over Bourbeuse River
Near Union

Just before reaching the Bourbeuse River, Highway 66 split into dual lanes, then crossed on the landmark Twin Bridges. Today, the I-44 outer road crosses where the bridge on the north side was, and locals still call it the Twin Bridges. The name of the river is pronounced "burr-buss". It's derived from French, meaning "muddy".
