St Louis

John Wixford is the unsung hero who finally cleaned up the St Louis water supply. He founded that milk of lime, at a temperature of 190 degrees gave good results. His discovery came just in time to keep the fountains at the 1904 World's Fair from being fouled by muddy water. Nervous fair officials had built their own filtration plant, just in case.
