St Louis

One of the largest fires in St Louis history occurred at Checkerboard Square on January 10, 1962. A dust explosion triggered a fire that burned for nearly 20 hours, killing two Ralston employees and a fire captain. A total of 35 employees were severly injured. The temperature was seven below zero that day.
